Empowering Supervisors
Empowering Supervisors
Supervisors, or junior managers face unique challenges in production environments. Occupying a “ham in the sandwich” organisational position, they experience pressure from the top and the bottom, requiring a special set of skills with which they are often not equipped on appointment. Empowering Supervisors addresses these skills sets, and teaches supervisors the ability to lead work teams whilst communicating effectively with their managers.
There is a choice of modules depending on environment and focus areas and programme durations are therefore flexible. We also offer assessment against SAQA unit standards on the NQF.
The emphasis is on delegates applying their new skills in the workplace post training.

Course Content
Content is reliant on the depth and duration of the programme which can be anything from 2 to 20 days. Below is the short version:
- The Role of the Supervisor
- Assertiveness
- Clear, unambiguous communication
- Accountability
- Delegation
- Performance Management
- Skills development
As needs differ according to differing working environments, it is important that our processes and modules are flexible. Being soft skills training specialists we have the expertise and resources to customise the right programme of the appropriate duration and content for your supervisory team.
It is our experience that when management is involved in supporting the process, results are that much more dramatic.
Where a programme runs over a period of time, we schedule delegate assignments between the classroom sessions and monitor implementation. There are also outdoor elements to some modules allowing for experiential learning.
